KAPLNKA V ORAVSKEJ OSADE

The material and spatial rendering of the spiritual life in the centre of the village, connects modern and natural elements. The modern and soft visual of the nave are inspired by the folk pattern of a bell called spiežovec. It’s expression should evoke the introversion of the space of the nave’s hall in contrast with the extroverted expression of people. The chapel itself is interconnected with the board of the square with bells – an “urbanized plateau”.

The natural is expressed by installing the whole into a groove in the landscape and using natural materials in the creation process. The roof is made up of a titanium-zinc roofing material. The interior of the nave is made from split shingles. The horizontal matter and “plateau” is made from coloured concrete.
